My first big layout was in Lions Bay in a 16’x20’ room in the basement – the Train Room. The main level was sheets of 3/4” plywood standing in table trestles from IKEA. There were 5 levels in all. The upper levels were made from jig sawed sheets of plywood.
The highlight was 6 concentric loops. Each loop was connect to the next by a set of 4 switches. The inner loop exited across all 6 sets of track using a custom built set of crossover tracks.
