Engines

Standard “Green” freight Engine.

A second motor has been added.  These have 3 channels, so by selecting 2 or 3 to the same channel, it is easy to control a long train.  My long box car train has 4 of these and my container train has 2.

A second motor has been added.  These have 3 channels, so by selecting 2 or 3 to the same channel, it is easy to control a long train.  My long passenger train has one at the front and one at the back.  In both cases the extra over hang was removed so the engine could turn corners properly.  So there are 3 engines on the bullet train: front, middle and  back.

The middle bullet train engine is different.  It started with a standard engine base but was built to look like a passenger car. SO there are 3 engines in total on the bullet train.

Red Heavy Haul Engine

Standard RC train with entra motor and front lights added.  This engine is a real work horse.

Yellow Engine

Chinese knock off fitted with an engine and receiver.

Chinese knock off with BuWizz controller

Drone Engine

Standard RC train base, with extra motor, build as a drone.  This dual motor engine hauls very well.

Blue Engines

Chinese RC trains.  WIth minor reworking these are good engines.  Each with 2 motors.  The magnets are not very strong.

More Engines

Chinese engines.

Red Engine – I added 2 motors and RC receiver.  Doesn’t haul very well.  Poor model.

Yellow Engine and Tender.  The engine is only 22 studs long and needed some reworking to make the boggies turn with the under piece.   A motor etc. can be added.  Suitable as a yard engine.

Yard Engine

Built as a small yard engine but with RC controls.  The hardest part is hiding the wires inside.  Complete with lights.  This is controlled by one of the Orange controllers.

Small Red Double Engines

These are standard 4.5V engines with one standard battery car between them.

Double Steam Engines

These are standard 4.5V engines with one standard battery car behind.

Green non motorized Engine

Pretty standard model.

BNSF non motorized Engine

Pretty standard model.

Custom 4.5V Engine

Battery pack mounted at front of car with motor below.

Custom 4.5V Engine

Battery pack mounted at back of car with motor below.

Custom 4.5V Engines

Some of the 4.5 V engines have been made to look like the cards on the train they pull – like coal car, passenger car, container car.  Standard motor mount below and custom car above.  Wired into one of the 4.5V engines with battery pack.

Container engine.

Passenger engines.

Drone style used with non motorized engines as the motor.

Coal train engines – one made like a coal car.

Triple Boggie  Engine

Custom build with triple boggies front and back.  The middle wheels “float”.

Crane  Engine

Custom built to 2 single axles with an overhang at the back.

Tram

From one of the City Sets.  A standard “orange” controller RC setup.

Runs on elevated tracks.  An El.  Simpe out and back layout above Level A.
